Stoke made it three straight victories and moved up to eight in the league after they eased past Roberto Martinez`s Everton.

Goals from Victor Moses and Mame Biram Diouf gave Stoke their first league double of the season and made it two wins, and two clean sheets in a week.

Mark Hughes was forced into one change from the weekend victory against Hull as Charlie Adam replaced the injured Stephen Ireland, whilst Hughes rewarded Peter Crouch with a start ahead of Diouf after his weekend winner.

Martinez made three changes from his side that lost to Arsenal at the weekend with Lennon, Gibson and Naismith coming in for Barkley, Besic and Mirallas.

Everton started the brightest and had the early possession and nearly opened the scoring through Darren Gibson but his shot was comfortably saved by Asmir Begovic.

The Toffee`s continued to dominate possession without really creating any chances and Stoke nearly capitalised as the ever impressive Moses created space for himself on the left wing and smashed the ball goal wards only for Tim Howard to save well.

It was only moments later though that Moses did beat Howard with a superb header as he ran away from goal, but he managed to power the ball from Bardsley`s cross into the top corner.

Lennon, who was constantly booed throughout the game after turning down a loan move to the Potters in January, should have got Everton back onto level terms before the break but he struck his shot straight at Begovic.

Everton came out in the second half all guns blazing and nearly levelled instantly as Lukaku skipped past Geoff Cameron, who had come on for the injured Phillip Wollschied, but Begovic managed to tip the ball just wide.

Martinez made a number of changes to try and get back on a level footing but it came to no avail and it was Hughes` changes that put the game to bed as Mame Diouf burst through the middle and found Marko Arnautovic whose shot beat Howard but came back off the post, but Diouf was there to side foot home and bag the Potters all three points.
