Stoke City's miserable record at the Emirates Stadium continued with yet another defeat at the home of Arsenal.
The Emirates Stadium is haunted to any Stoke fan, or player to that mind these days and it still is following a drumming yet again. Stoke could of been 4-0 down after only 20 mins if it wasn't for some fantastic saves from potter's keeper Asmir Begovic.
He was tested after only 2 mins, when a low, curling shot from Alexis Sanchez was tipped around the post. From that moment Stoke knew this was going to be a long afternoon. It didn't take long for a goal to come, A blistering shot from Arsenal's Rosicky was brilliantly saved by Begovic but from the resulting corner the ball found its way to the feet of Koscielny who's neat little exchange with Sanchez saw the Arsenal defender score in the 6th minute with a free header from close range.
The first half was all Arsenal and Stoke struggled to cope with the pace, and were always second to the ball. But Stoke have a never say die attitude, but it just didn't work. On the 33rd minute it was all but game over after a Steven Nzonzi's mistake allowed Sanchez to play a neat One, two with Rosicky and the Chilean striker put away his first of the afternoon and Arsenal's second. Stoke did knock the ball about well after the second goal but the home side were to slick for the potters. 2 minutes into stoppage time comes Stoke's first real effort at goal from Peter crouch his shot is from a tight angle and causes no problems. Half time 2-0.
Stoke start the second half more brightly however just 4 minutes in to the second period it's well and truly game over, an Alexis Sanchez free kick takes a deflection, and despite Begovic's best efforts to keep it out it goes over the line. Potentially an own goal from the Bosnian stopper but a goal either way. 3-0 to the gunners.
On 67 minutes a great little lob from Santi Cazorla beats Stoke keeper Begovic but goes inches over the bar. Lucky escape. Just 9 minutes later Stoke finally find the back of the net but Geoff Cameron's effort is ruled off side by the linesman, after a great cross from arnautovic is flicked on by Peter Crouch but defender Cameron going to early.
Not long after Arsenal should of made it 4-0 after good work Sanchez who unselfishly finds Theo Walcott open and with the goal at his mercy the England winger fires awfully wide. Very rusty Walcott.
With just 2 minutes left Stoke make a good move and the ball finds substitute Stephen Ireland just inside the area his effort has a good angle on it but not enough power to beat David Ospina in the arsenal goal.
Stoke City's miserable record at the Emirates in the premier league continues with 8 defeats running at the gunners. What a difference 5 weeks make, When it was Stoke teaching Arsenal a lesson in football.
The haunting Emirates still Haunts the Potters.
