The Potters face the U's on Saturday as both picked up points in midweek with Colchester coming out on top in a 4-2 thriller against QPR. They currently lie in 11th place, but until Wednesday had not had a win since the end of August, with three draws and two defeats during September.
Potters' first team coach, Dave Kemp told the official site: 'It will be a good game, they are a good side, they are on a roll and will come here to try and win.
'We're on a good run at the moment, confidence is sky high and we want to go into the two week international break in the top six.
'They have got Teddy Sheringham who is a very good player, for him to still be playing at his age shows how good he actually is.'
Stoke will have to choose a replacement for Gaby Zakuani after he suffered a hamstring injury in the midweek draw against the Baggies. Clint Hill is still injured and Pulis seems keen to rehabilitate Vincent Pericard after his release from jail, so it's likely he will be on the bench. John Eustace may get another chance in midfield after his first start on Wednesday night.
Ric is always one to watch - possibly the only one to watch up front with Sidibe a doubt, Jon Parkin yet to hit top form and Vincent Pericard having the minor hindrance of a tag around his ankle.
Veteran, Teddy Sheringham is a doubt but will travel to the Brit, but Kevin McLeod is definitely out after going down with flu.
The striker joined the U's this season from the MK Dons in a club record fee of £300,000 and has two goals to his name so far.
A 3-1 win at the end of last April for the Potters saw goals from Sidibe, Higginbotham and Russell.
