Clint's an Eagle

Clint's an Eagle

Clint Hill has made his loan move to Crystal Palace permanent with the news that he has signed a two year contract at Selhurst Park.

This is not unexpected and follows hot on the heels of Leon Cort's move in the opposite direction earlier this week. Palace have not released details of the fee involved but Hill was out of contract at the Potters in the summer so we would not expect it to any more than the £200,000 that had been rumoured.

IN
Already in the can:

Salif Diao (free agent)
Danny Pugh - Preston North End (£500k)
Andy Griffin - Derby (£300k)
Leon Cort - Crystal Palace (£1.2m)

Reasonable certainties:
Ryan Shawcross - Manchester United (£1m+?)

Just the rumour mill for now:
Glenn Whelan - Sheffield Wed. He has been talked about since the summer and the Owls have just turned down a 'derisory' offer of £250k from Plymouth
Stelios Giannakopoulos - Bolton (£750k?) Megson is a big mate of TP, so who knows..
Marlon Harewood - Aston Villa. Rumours link the Potters to a loan deal for the former Hammers' striker until the end of the season

OUT
and already gone

Peter Sweeney - Leeds United ('nominal fee')
Clint Hill - Crystal Palace. (undisclosed fee)

I'll keep this updated as the month progresses. If you've got any other rumours why not add them below.

Clint was a great servant to us. He gives 100% when he pulls on the shirt. A great squad player to have more recently but I think a move was the best thing for both parties as Stoke continue to strengthen and push on up the table.
