Shawcross to sign for Stoke

Stoke City chairman, Peter Coates has announced that the club have agreed a deal with Manchester United to sign Ryan Shawcross on a permanent contract

He told BBC Radio Stoke that it was likely that the deal would be concluded this month. Shawcross is on loan at the Brit and the 20 year old has been a rock in defence, whilst also scoring seven goals.

This is great news, as the youngster has been regarded as one of Alex Ferguson's up and coming stars with real Premier League potential and the news that he is prepared to commit himself to the Potters is another positive sign of the club's progression.

Awesome. He'll be voted Stoke City's player of the season if he keeps up current form.
