Leeds to sign Sweeney

Leeds to sign Sweeney

Peter Sweeney looks set to be on the move out of the Brit after Leeds manager, Dennis Wise revealed that he has agreed terms with Stoke to sign the former Millwall player.

Sweeney has never made an impact at Stoke since he was signed in August 2005. Last season he spent time in the West Country on loan at Yeovil and this time around he's been down the M6 at Walsall.

Wise told the BBC: 'I've got Peter, but he's got to have a medical. I know him from Millwall and he can play on the left or in the middle,'

Wise was player-manager at the New Den when Sweeney was a regular for Millwall and obviously feels that he will be a good buy for a Leeds team that are flying in League 1 after relegation last season and almost certain promotion favourites.
