Salif finally signs for Stoke!

Salif Diao has finally put his long awaited signature to a new 18 month contract for Stoke City.

Stoke have been chasing the former Liverpool midfielder who has been a free agent since his short term contract with the Potters finished in the summer. It was revealed last month that Stoke still hoped to secure his services but that the delay was down to injuries and lack of fitness.

This is great news for Stoke fans who appreciated his calm and control in midfield last season - something that has been lacking so far and should be a big boost to the team as we come into the hectic Christmas period.

It's not clear when he will be able to make his debut in his old number 18 shirt, but we hope it's not very long.

Great news. Of all last season's players he is the one we have missed the most
