Stoke sign Jamaican international
Breaking news: Stoke have completed the signing of Jamaican international midfielder, Demar Phillips.
The 23 year old has been signed from Jamaican club, Waterhouses on a three year contract for 'a significant but undisclosed fee' according to the official site.
The site also quoted Tony Pulis as saying: "I'm delighted we've signed an exceptionally exciting player from Jamaica. He's quality left-sided player with plenty of pace and one we hope to develop for the future."
Phillips follows hard on the heels of Gabriel Zakuani, who has returned on loan again from Fulham, this time for the remainder of the season. The defender showed great promise in the short time he was with the club last season and will hopefully be an invaluable asset in defence as the Potters struggle to regroup at the back after the departures of Hoefkens and now Higginbotham.
In other news, Adam Rooney has joined Chesterfield on a four month loan.
With Demar Phillips likely to be the last permanent signing before the closing of the transfer window at midnight, fans will still be feeling let down after all the hopes and false starts that have characterised pre-season and the first full month of the season. With luck the club can still bring in some 'inspirational' loan signings such as they did with Lee Hendrie last season.
Time will only tell....
