Unsworth to sign for Stoke?
Former Wigan player, David Unsworth looks like he may be about to sign for the Potters after completing a trial at the Brit earlier today.
Unsworth, who famously scored a penalty against his old club, Sheffield United, in May to send them back to the Championship and was then promptly released by Wigan the following day, had been about to sign for the Potters back in January but opted to remain in the Premiership and join the Latics instead. Vital Stoke had predicted in the early summer that he would be, again, a likely target for Tony Pulis.
The 33 year old has one England cap to his name and played for many years at Everton with short periods at Portsmouth and Aston Villa before returning North to play for the Blades in 2005. Stoke City should fit the bill for the big defender as he would not have to relocate and we're desperate enough to need him.
