Halls moves to Reading for 250,000

John Halls has finally made his predicted move away from Stoke but joined Reading not Southampton.

As I predicted earlier this week, several other clubs came out of the woodwork after Stoke announced that they had agreed terms with Southampton for defender John Halls.

Crystal Palace and Reading were also rumoured to be interested in the former Arsenal trainee and it was Reading that today walked away with the prize.

Good business, I think, for Stoke who would have lost him for nothing come the summer. We get 250,000 upfront with another 50,000 if Reading get promoted and a further 20% in a sell-on clause.
