Vass off to Italy

Vass off to Italy

Stoke City youngster and Hungarian international, Adam Vass has left the club and signed for Italian Serie B club, Brescia.

The club had offered 18 year old Vass a new contract and are reported to be very disappointed but it cannot be a great surprise that the club's youngest ever full international has decided that his future lay away from the Britannia as his national coach had warned him that he needed first team experience if he wanted to keep his place in the squad.

Although he had several full caps for the Hungarian national team, he was always deemed not good enough for even an appearance from the sub's bench whilst in the Potteries.

We cannot help but draw comparisons with keeper, Ben Foster who left the Brit two years ago after never making an appearance for the first team to join Manchester United where Alex Ferguson promptly loaned him out to fellow Championship club, Watford. He has just finished two full seasons (with one in the Premiership) and gained his first England cap in the process and, no doubt, is in line for a crack at first choice keeper at Old Trafford in the near future.

We'll never know if Vass would have made it as a Stoke player, but yet again we've not given our brighter youngsters a try. Our loss, someone else's gain.

Very true. I think you are right, he'll become a decent player. But many italian players never make it in England (Rossi, e.t.c) so not to worry!
