Unsworth to Stoke?

Wigan defender, David Unsworth has been released by the club even though his goal for the Latics against the Blades last Sunday kept them in the Premiership and condemned his former club to a quick return to the Championship.

He very nearly joined the Potters last January after being released by Sheffield United, but opted to join Wigan but is again looking for a club and with his home in the North West would no doubt prefer a club within easy commuting distance. Burnley are also rumoured to be running the rule over the former long serving Everton player.

The 33 year old has the experience that would make him an ideal fit for a Pulis style defender, but his age may yet count against him.
