Pulis: sort out the fixtures

Tony Pulis has said that the Football League should review the fixture debacle that sees teams having consecutive away games.

Stoke have endured recent matches away at Plymouth, Sunderland and Norwich, which has seen the Potters having to travel over 1,260 miles and TP believes that this contributed to the poor performance last Saturday.

Pulis would like to see a return to alternate home and away matches and thinks fans would prefer that to the current Football League suggestion that drawn matches should be decided by a penalty shoot-out.

He told the Sentinel: We've got Mawhinney (the League Chairman) wanting to change the rules, but what he might think about is looking at the fixtures and planning it a bit better for people.

'In the last three away games we've had Plymouth, Sunderland and Norwich, while Barnsley were down at Plymouth on a Wednesday (a 600 mile round trip).'

'If Mahwinney can do something for football, he could try to get home and away games one after the other.'

Having alternate home and away matches would also help fans budget for home games and spread the extra cost in travelling to away matches, so Vital Stoke supports TP 100% in this.
