Youngster Can Impress With More Chances
Having made his Premier League debut last weekend, Tyrese Campbell is hoping for more opportunity to impress Stoke City gaffer Paul Lambert between now and the end of the season.
The 18 year old replaced Mame Diouf during the second half of the one all draw with Leicester City and he won plaudits for his 26 minute showing where he played the lone striker role.
Having got his debut under his belt, he's hungry for more now and he's told the Official Website that he's going to continue to work hard in training to earn himself a bigger role in our remaining Premier League games of 2017/18.
'I don`t want to rest on making one appearance, I want more. Whether that is off the bench, or perhaps in the first eleven, this is just the start. It`s a big honour to play for the first team and make my Premier League debut. I just need to carry on working hard and getting more chances. Having been in and around the first team environment for the last couple of weeks, I have really enjoyed it. I felt comfortable, and I don`t feel out of place - so I am earning the rewards from that.'
Speaking about his debut and the build up, he went on to say.
'I found out on the morning of the game that I was going to be on the bench. The manager just told me to go out and enjoy playing, press and try my best to get a goal. It wasn`t anything too heavy! I must admit, it is a very different level to Under-23s, in the fact that it`s so much quicker. Everyone is trying to be at the top of their game, and don`t give a moments rest. It`s something I need to prepare for and bring into my game.'
