Bauer Pleased With Stoke Bow
January signing Moritz Bauer has spoken of his delight at making his Premier League bow for Stoke City's in the Manchester United clash.
Heading to Old Trafford for the game, Stoke lost out three nil on Monday evening but Bauer did debut in front of new manager Paul Lambert who watched on from the stands.
Speaking to the Official Website as the Austrian met with the media following the game, the 25 year old admitted it had been a bit of a rollercoaster week, but he'd enjoyed it.
'First of all, I think it is important that everybody pulls together to get some points on the board because our current situation is not ideal. I`m very proud to make my debut, it has been an unusual few days for me coming out of a winter break and only having a week`s worth of training. I know I can improve more but I feel very comfortable and I am very happy with the warm welcome the Club have given me. I tried to do my best, I still need to get used to the players and the rhythm. It wasn`t easy for me, but I enjoyed it very much despite the result being disappointing for us.'
Bauer obviously hopes he's impressed Lambert enough to keep his place in the side as we go into the next match, but he knows that applies to everyone as the slate is clean.
'Everybody will be trying to keep our place in the team and hopefully the new manager was satisfied with me but I still think I can improve a lot. I`m looking forward to working with him and learning from him, he`s proved that he is a good coach in the Premier League.'
'This next week is big for us, we get to train with him for the first time and we will all be trying our best to get a very, very important win at the weekend.'
