Mark & Peter Talk Crouch
Manager Mark Hughes has been waxing lyrical about Peter Crouch and Crouchie was also in front of the press following the Leicester City fightback.
With Xherdan Shaqiri and Crouch finding the net as we fought back on the day, Hughes made his thoughts clear about the impact Crouch had for us once again and in a separate interview he knew there would be interest in the 36 year old in the January window, but given his consistency there was no way we'd be tempted to sell.
Speaking to the Official Website Hughes explained.
'Peter continues to make an impact at this level but that`s because of the work he does on a daily basis. He needs to stay here; he`s unique in terms of what he gives us and he`s still very adept at what he does. We`ll give him the games that he needs without a shadow of a doubt.'
He went on to say.
'He`s playing well. I thought his general play was good, irrespective of the great goal that he scored. He`s very effective and I know a lot of other clubs would love to have Peter Crouch on their roster. We`re delighted he`s here - we know what to do to make sure he`s effective so there`s no reason for him to leave.'
As for his own post game press interview, Crouch said himself about the match and his 52nd headed goal.
'I lit up when that ball came in towards me. I am very pleased to get the goal. I thought a draw was probably a fair reflection on the game, and pleased to help the team get the result. I was told to make an impact when I came on and I couldn`t be happier to be back to scoring goals. I tried to put myself about and make a nuisance of myself, which is something I have done for most of my career.'
He went on to say.
'I am feeling really good. Obviously I am a little frustrated to be on the bench. I still feel that I can start games, but I`m more than happy to come on and make an impact. I don`t miss too many games and I still believe I can make an impact. I am looking to play as long as possible, and hopefully play into my forties.'
