Hughes - Jese Will Boost The Squad

Hughes - Jese Will Boost The Squad

Manager Mark Hughes was also speaking about the signing of Paris Saint-Germain's Jese Rodriguez as he met with the media ahead of the game against Arsenal this weekend.

With the 24 year old becoming the latest big name arrival at the club, albeit on a loan spell from the French giants, Hughes told the Official Website as he met with the press that he felt not only would Jese be a great option this season, he felt he would lift everyone.

The player trained with his new colleagues for the first time on Thursday morning.

'I think sometimes we underplay what we can offer to players. At the end of the day we`re a good, stable Club that has things in place - some of those for a considerable time - including myself, the coaching staff and facilities.'

Hughes went on to say about the atmosphere at the club and the general reaction from players.

'The vast majority of players that come here for any length of time will tell you that they enjoy the experience of what they do on a daily basis and that gets around. You don`t get the quality of players we get if top players that have been here in the past are saying bad things about you.'

'We`re a good Club, we have a lot to offer, top players don`t see the difference in terms of what we give them compared to PSG or the like, so maybe that`s the reason why we`re a viable option.'

Speaking more specifically about what the Spaniard will bring to the side, he hinted he could debut this weekend.

'The top and bottom of it is that he is an elite player and when you get the opportunity to bring that level of player to your club then you`ve got to try and pursue it to its conclusion. You won`t get many of them over the line and I think everyone will see within minutes of him being on the field that he is a high quality player and one that we`re going to benefit from. We`ve brought him in with the intention of giving him game time, that`s why he`s chosen to come here so hopefully it won`t be long until we see him in action.'
