Premier League Cup Draw - U23s

Premier League Cup Draw - U23s

The draw for the 32 team Premier League Cup took place earlier this afternoon and there are a few significant Midland derby clashes this year.

The draw has put Derby County against Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion against Aston Villa as they formulated the eight groups with four sides a piece.

The top two teams from each group progress through to the knockout stages of the U23 tournament.

Swansea City are the defending Champions for 2017/18 and the Group Stage fixture dates will be confirmed by clubs directly, shortly.

Group A
Derby County, Middlesbrough, Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest

Group B
Blackburn Rovers, Southampton, Watford, Cardiff City

Group C
Wolverhampton Wanderers, Norwich City, AFC Bournemouth/Wigan Athletic, Bury/Bristol Rovers

Group D
Swansea City, Newcastle United, Burnley, Colchester United

Group E
West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa, Sheffield United, Ipswich Town

Group F
Everton, Leicester City, Portsmouth/Southend United, Barnsley

Group G
Stoke City, Liverpool, Charlton Athletic, Bristol City

Group H
Sunderland, Brighton & Hove Albion, Dagenham & Redbridge/Exeter City, Hull City

Some qualifying round ties are still to take place - hence the double drawing of a couple of teams in a few pots.
