West Ham Plan A Third Arnautovic Bid

West Ham Plan A Third Arnautovic Bid

Having seen a couple of bids turned down West Ham plan to make a third for Stoke forward Marko Arnautovic.

Interest from Everton in the past saw Arnautovic expressing a desire to leave before a change of heart meant he not only stayed but signed a new contract at Stoke.

West Ham bids have led to a transfer request being put in.

An opening gambit of £15m was turned down, West Ham's increased £20m likewise but the Hammers aren't giving up and will return again 'when the time is right' with a third offer, according to Sky Sports.

The report added Sky had 'been told that the Austria international wants the move to West Ham to join up with Slaven Bilic' but this doesn't necessarily mean it'll be the case as 'Stoke do not want to sell him.'

Stoke might not need to sell, want to even, but if Arnautovic, 28, wants to leave the chances are he will. There's also only so many times a player can express a desire to leave and he's 'forgiven' if it doesn't happen. As important as the Austrian is to the Potters an unhappy player isn't often a helpful player.

A knee injury means Arnautovic is currently on the sidelines anyway, which meant he missed out on the remainder of Stoke's week in Switzerland, rounded off on Saturday by a defeat against French champions Monaco.

This saw Saido Berahino - talking of unhappy players and eventually getting a move - scoring his first goal for Stoke to put us ahead. Monaco hit back to lead before Mame Diouf levelled it up.

Monaco eventually went on to win 4-2 as all members who travelled with the squad got some first team involvement following the training camp on Lake Geneva.
