Stoke transfer news - 31/01/07

Michael Duberry is holding talks with Reading after the Royals came in with a late sizable offer for the 31 year old Potters' captain.

Duberry is out of contract in the summer and has invoked a clause in his contract that allows him to talk to Premiership clubs that offer 'a fixed amount' for him, according to the club website.

It's unlikely that Tony Pulis will allow him to depart without being able to bring in cover, so frantic efforts are going on at the Britannia today to identify any likely canditates.

Peter Sweeney has had his loan move to Yeovil confirmed. He will join on loan until the end of the season.

The club have confirmed that Lee Hendrie's new loan contract, that will keep the Villa midfielder here until the end of the season, does not include any early recall clause.

The Sentinel are reporting that they believe Pulis is still on the hunt for a reserve keeper and another striker and has not yet given up hope of landing someone before the midnight deadline.
