Stoke transfer news - 30/01/07

The transfer activity seems to be reaching its peak with late news that Stoke have finally signed Lee Hendrie and have also signed Fulham defender Gabriel Zakuani on loan.

Stoke are reporting that they are expecting Hendrie to arrive at the club this evening as they prepare to face Ipswich Town at the Brit and he should sign a new loan deal tonight after Aston Villa gave the go-ahead this afternoon.

The club have also signed 20 year old defender, Gabriel Zakuani on loan from Fulham for the remainder of the season. The deal was agreed by Pulis and Fulham boss, Chris Coleman at last Saturday's match at Craven Cottage. The centre-half, who was signed for £1m last summer, has not yet had a chance to break into the Fulham team and Coleman is hoping the Potters will give the Zaire player some first team experience.

It's still expected that Peter Sweeney's loan move to Yeovil will go through soon and barring any last minute move by Reading on Michael Duberry, which in reality seems unlikely, then an unusually busy January for the Potters will draw to a close tomorrow with no further moves.
