Hendrie deal off - but Carl stays

Stoke City have announced they have not managed to sign Lee Hendrie before the deadline for him to play at Fulham tomorrow but Carl Hoefkens' move to Belgium is OFF after the player could not agree personal terms.

Chief Executive Tony Scholes told the official site: 'After a frustrating morning, we have been unable to secure a deal with Aston Villa for the loan of Lee Hendrie.
'We were desparately keen to sign Lee in advance of Saturday's FA Cup match at Fulham but unfortunately problems have occurred due to interest from a Premiership club.
'We are however, still very keen to sign Lee and we have not given up hope of securing a deal.'

But some good news is that Carl Hoefkens is now back in the squad to face Fulham tomorrow after his proposed move to FC Bruges fell through.
