Palacios set for Qatar switch

Wilson Palacios is set to sign for Qatar Sports Club, according to The Sentinel.

Palacios has not travelled with the squad to Germany after being given a prolonged pre-season after participating in the World Cup, but will not join up with the team like fellow group stage World Cup knockout Asmir Begovic.

The Honduras midfielder has struggled to break into the Stoke first team after being to the Britannia Stadium in for 6 million.

The 29-year-old is set to move to Qatar, to play in the Qatar Stars League, in a deal reported to be worth around 1 million, as Stoke look to cut their loses with the midfield.
