Shock! Horror! Pulis set to raid old club rumours

And so it begins…

The rumours of former Stoke manager Tony Pulis coming in to raid the Potters to help keep his Crystal Palace side in the Premier League.

The links to the side he gained promotion with to the Premier League are that his and the club`s record signing Peter Crouch come be moving to London, along with Matthew Etherington, who Pulis purchased for Stoke in the first season that the Potters were promoted in the January transfer window.

Along with Etherington`s performances and the goals of James Beattie, the Potters stayed in the top English league, proving all the doubters wrong. A task Pulis finds himself with once again.

Pulis has earmarked a striker as his prime target when the transfer window opens on Wednesday and wants to bring the 6ft 7in Crouch to London, although Stoke manager Mark Hughes has been using Crouch as his main striker for most of the season and is unlikely to allow the former England international leave.

On the other hand, Matthew Etherington has struggled with injury so far this season and has only made a handful of appearances for the club, and is likely to be allowed to leave if clubs come calling for the left winger.
