Poll Result: Ireland deserves permanent contract

The Vital Stoke community has spoken.

A whopping 78% believe that loanee midfielder Stephen Ireland deserves a permanent contract at the end of the season.

The attacking midfielder, who is on-loan from Aston Villa, scored his first league goal for the club in Stoke`s 3-3 draw at Swansea, and has slowly been regaining some of the form that saw him as a key player at the Ethihad Stadium, under current manager Mark Hughes.

Ireland`s contract runs out at the end of the season with Aston Villa, and the Irish international would be available on a free transfer for the Potters.
