Potters to make a move for Diao?

Now it seems that Liverpool midfielder, Salif Diao is set for a move to Stoke on a three month loan.

Several names have been bandied around over the last week or so, but it seems that Salif Daio may be the one that arrives at the Brit next week.

Diao has not figured in the Liverpool first team this season and is desperate to get some match practice.

He told reporters: 'I need to be playing regular, competitive football and Stoke will give me that chance.'

Can't make my mind up about this signing. He has a good pedigree but seems to have failed to impress at three clubs over the past 12 months. We have to hope it is another career changing move like the signing of Ade was - certainly a centre mid of Hendrie and Diao looks to have potential. If it is it should be great. Fingers crossed.

It would be a good signing, you need to sort out you league position soon !

adding him into the mix with Lee Hendrie and the other loans that stoke have made then I think it will prove good for Stoke and good for the player to get the games under his belt !

"Jury's out" surely on this one? Big name / big money (once) in the past but has singularly failed to live up to that since (Liverpool fans don't rate him & neither Bruce nor Redknapp were impressed enough to offer him a deal). But if he is truly "desperate" then maybe he will prevail. Maybe he will do an Ade Fornside or maybe that's just words. But like all Stoke fans, I really hope so. The saving grace would be that like all loans, he can go back if it all goes base over apex.
