Stoke chase Blades' defender?

It is reported that the Potters are in the hunt for Sheffield United central defender, Chris Lucketti.

The 35 year old moved to the Blades from Preston on loan towards the end of last season, but Warnock signed him up on a permanent deal in the summer. Since then he has not figured in the first team this season, only appearing as a sub in a Carling Cup match.

Warnock has indicated that Lucketti may be available on loan and his former club, Preston are also reported to be interested. He had been a regular in the Lilywhites first team since he joined from Huddersfield back in 2001.

think he would probably go for Preston rather than yourselves to be honest ... former club and all that !

Why does Warnock sign players and then never play them? I hate him so much lol.

Warnock has a crazy transfer policy

Do we really want a 33 yr old defender who, after all, hasn't cut it @ Sheff U. / in the Prem.? And yes, Warnock is a mystery as to how or why he does what he does on the transfer market - Kazim Richards will be another who will see a lot of the bench instead of playing regular Championship football.

In fact, i'll answer my own Q. - no, we should be saving all our spare pennies (we've given up on the idea of a transfer "kitty" now) to sign Hendrie if at all possible.

Totally agree, Stokebloke. Watching Hendrie at the weekend was a breath of fresh air - only shame was that he didn't score. Only problem is - if he does too well he'll be out of our reach....
