Stoke Offer Free Away Travel To Fans

Stoke City fans will look to save a lot of money in the upcoming season, with the Potters announcing that they are offering free coach travel to any fan who goes to an away game in the 2013-2014 season.

The news has come on the back of the increase of the TV Revenue that all clubs are getting. The Potters have become one of the first clubs to do this through the country, and it has put them in good stead with fans and clubs all over the country. Many fans are now calling for other teams to follow by Stoke's example, and hopefully for fans of other clubs this does pay off.

This will benefit Stoke in many ways, with many fans actually having the ability to get to away games, and selling out crowds at away games, it's certainly going to lead to a raucous atmosphere. Tony Scholes spoke directly to Midlands today, and said, 'We've done it for the odd game, but not the whole season. I'm not aware of anyone that has, we were looking at this around a year ago, looking at what we could do to keep football as affordable as possible. Our home match tickets haven't gone up for the last five years but everyone knows following their team away from home can be expensive. With the new broadcasting deals that came in, that arguably gave us the opportunity to do something and spend a little bit of money back on the supporters.'
