Alabi joins Scunthorpe in loan deal

Teenage striker James Alabi has moved to League One side Scunthorpe United on loan.

Alabi impressed during a behind-closed-door friendly against Scunthorpe Reserves, where he played 60 minutes for the Potters.

The 18-year-old has joined Scunthorpe, who are flirting with relegation as they sit 19th in League One, for an initial month.

Academy manager Dave Wright told Stokecityfc.com: "An opportunity like this is potentially fantastic for James` development.

"It doesn`t surprise us, however, as he`s been doing very well and it`s nice to see him pushing on and getting an opportunity at such a high level."

The Striker has been in impressive form for both Stoke`s Under-18 and Under-21 sides and will go straight into Brian Law`s squad for Scunthorpe`s tie with Hartlepool at Glanford Park and will wear the number 27 shirt.
