Stoke sign Shea

Stoke sign Shea

USA international Brek Shea has signed a four-and-half year deal at the Britannia Stadium.

The 22-year-old, who can play on the left wing or as a striker has moved from FC Dallas for £2.5 million.

Stoke managed to gain a work permit for the highly rated MLS star after putting forward mitigating circumstances to an F.A. panel and have been granted international clearance.

Manager Tony Pulis is delighted to finally get a player he has admired for a long time.

Pulis told Stokecityfc.com: "It`s fantastic news that we have been able to push through the deal.

"Brek is a very, very exciting player, and one who we firmly believe could go on to become an outstanding player for this Football Club.

"He has terrific pace, a very good left foot and is capable of scoring goals. He has all the tools needed to be a success here."

Shea cannot wait to pull on the famous red and white stripes and become the third American on Stoke`s books.

Shea told Stokecityfc.com: "It`s been up and down, trying to figure out what`s going on, but I`m here now and ready to go. It`s one of the best Leagues in the world, and I`m excited to be here and hopefully I can contribute"
