Stoke take youngster Jonsson on trial

Stoke City have taken young striker Fredrik Jonsson on trial.

The Swedish striker, who stands at 6ft 3in, will undergo a week-long trial at Stoke`s Clayton Wood Training Complex.

The 17-year-old, who previously played for Swedish outfit GAIS , is held in high regard in his native Sweden and is touted as a player for the future.

The youngster has also had a trial period at German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen and will also undergo a trial at Simon Grayson`s Championship side Huddersfield Town.

Jonsson is keen to impress in England, he told Fotbolldirekt.se: "It is right, first a week with Stoke and then with Huddersfield.

'It will be fun to compare how professional they are compared to Werder Bremen and GAIS.'
