Stoke & Liverpool`s Boxing Day match televised

Stoke City`s Boxing Day fixture has been chosen for live Sky Sports coverage.

Stoke`s Premier League encounter against Liverpool at the Britannia Stadium will now be played at the later time of 7.45pm.

This is the second season running that Stoke`s home Boxing Day fixture has been televised and moved back to a later time slot.

Last year`s Midland`s derby against Aston Villa which finished in a goalless stalemate was also televised.

The move is likely to cause upset with the Stoke supporters who could view the fixture kick off time as a deterrent.

Vital Stoke editor Lloyd Reddin admits: "I will probably miss this fixture for the second season in a row.

"Boxing Day is a big occasion for my family and the ridiculous kick off time just to accommodate the Sky TV cameras is ridiculous.

"All games on Boxing Day should be played early, not just to let the fans enjoy the holidays but also the players."
