Approved Owen in Stoke 25-man squad

Michael Owen has been granted permission by the Premier League to play for Stoke City this season.

Owen`s availability was put in doubt after there was confusion whether Stoke had managed to complete the deal for the former England international before the 25-man squad deadline.

The Premier League approved Stoke squad and allowed the 32-year-old to be a part of it.

Owen has been handed the number 10 shirt which was vacated by Ricardo Fuller over the summer.

Stoke`s 25-man squad and number list is:

Goalkeeper: 1. Asmir Begovic, 27. Carlo Nash, 29. Thomas Sorensen,

Defenders: 2. Geoff Cameron, 4. Robert Huth, 12. Marc Wilson, 17. Ryan Shawcross, 20. Matthew Upson, 28. Andy Wilkinson, 30. Ryan Shotton

Midfielders: 6. Glenn Whelan, 7. Jermaine Pennant, 8. Wilson Palacios, 13. Maurice Edu, 15. Steven N`Zonzi, 16. Charlie Adam, 18. Dean Whitehead, 21. Michael Kightly, 24. Rory Delap, 26. Matthew Etherington Under 21: 14. Jamie Ness,

Forwards: 9. Kenwyne Jones, 10. Michael Owen, 19. Jonathan Walters, 25. Peter Crouch, 33. Cameron Jerome

Mamady Sidibe, Danny Higginbotham, Diego Arismendi, Matthew Lund and Michael Tonge have not been included in the squad and will be unavailable for selection.
