Palacios set to leave Stoke

Wilson Palacios could be on the verge of leaving the Britannia Stadium after being forced to train with the Stoke under-21 squad.

The Honduran looked set to play in Stoke`s Captial One cup tie on Tuesday night (28th August) against League One outfit Swindon but was omitted from the squad. Stoke went on to lose 4-3 in extra time after a hat-trick for Robin`s striker James Collins.

Instead, the £8 million player was asked to train with the Potter`s development squad and is even set to play in their fixture at Morecombe today (29th August).

There is no report of why the former Tottenham midfielder has been outcasted by Welsh supreme Tony Pulis, but the central midfielder, who has only played a handful of games for the Potters, as Pulis deemed him to not be fit enough last season, looked set to be an integral part of the capped one`s plans after a full pre-season under his belt and being handed the number 8 shirt.

It now seems that Palacios could be heading for the exit at the Britannia Stadium.

Several clubs such as Valencia have been rumoured to be interested in the services of the 28-year-old.

This is not the first time Pulis has fell out with a player during his spell at the Britannia Stadium, with Tuncay, Peter Sweeney, Carl Hoefkens, Abdoulaye Faye, Liam Lawrence and James Beattie all having high profile fallings out with the manager.
