Stoke in talks with Aussie Kewell

Stoke City have made a move for Australian international Harry Kewell.

The former Leeds United and Liverpool midfielder has been spotted at the Clayton Wood training complex this morning. (22nd August)

It is rumoured that the left winger had a meeting with manager Tony Pulis about a possible move to the Britannia Stadium.

The 'chat` apparently only lasted half an hour with Kewell coming away from the training ground looking 'unimpressed` as it is believed Pulis isn`t keen on bringing the free agent to the Potteries.

If Pulis was to try and sign the Australian, he would bring a vast amount of experience to Staffordshire.

He has had spells at Leeds, Liverpool andGalatasaray, whilst spending last season at Melbourne Victory.

Kewell has also won 58 caps for Australia, scoring 17 goals, which includes playing in two World Cup, and is also the only Australian born Champions League winner; winning it in his spell at Anfield.

Kewell recently had a trial with Championship side Blackburn Rovers and has also been travelling around the Premier League teams to talk over a possible return to the league.

The 33-year-old has also been strongly linked with a move to League One outfit and Stoke`s Capital One cup opponents Swindon Town.
