Stoke set for Huddlestone loan deal

Stoke City are again set to raid Tottenham Hotspur, this time for Tom Huddlestone.

Manager Tony Pulis is rumoured to be trying to strike a deal to bring the England international on a season long loan deal to the Britannia Stadium.

Huddlestone, who was side lined for the best part of last season, has been told by Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas that he can leave White Hart Lane temporarily to gain first team football.

The central midfielder has had to have two operations on his ankle in recent years but has had a full pre-season for Spurs`.

A loan deal would work for both parties, as Pulis is looking to inject a creative spark into the middle of the park and Huddlestone is in search of regular football.

The 25-year-old has been capped for England three times, whilst the former Derby midfielder has made over 100 first team appearances for Tottenham, scoring 8 goals.

If he can get 100% fit and is hungry, he will be a great player for you or anyone else. many Spurs fans will be very unhappy at the idea of losing him, but will be hoping he has a great season and comes back better
oxfordspur
He's a brilliant player, i hope this is only temporary

Great passer when given the time to look up. Struggles against the top teams due to lack of mobility

I wouldnt call him a "Stoke" style of player, but he's a good player none the less

Ditto oxfordspur. 5 comments and all of them from Spurs fans. Love the shirt. So much for the infamous Stoke support eh.

Us Stoke fans are just waiting for confirmation on this one before we get too excited. As a club we seem un-capable to finalise a deal. IF he does sign he is an outstanding signing, and even just as a loan signing would be seen as a benchmark signing for the club. Hopefully he can link up again with Palacios in our midfield, and give us the creative spark that we have been crying out for in years,
