Stoke City finalise pre-season plans

Stoke City have finalised there pre-season schedule, which will now stretch over four different countries and two continents.

The Potters will first fly off to Switzerland on the 14th July to the Alps instead of their usual destination of Austria.

At the end of the five day training camp, Stoke will face Swiss Super League side FC Sion in Montreux.

They will then jet back to England for a short time before jetting off 'over the pond` to the United States of America for a 12 day trip across the country.

Stoke will first take on MLS side Columbus Crew on the 24th July, who has former Port Vale midfielder Chris Birchall in their ranks before travelling to Florida to play affiliated club Orlando City at the 70,000 capacity Citrus Bowl stadia on the 28th July.

The Lions have a number of former Stoke City players and coaching staff in their ranks including Adrian Heath, James O`Connor and Tony Pulis` son Anthony Pulis.

After using Orlando`s impressive training facilities, Stoke will then round off their tour of America with a trip to MLS side Sporting Kansas City on the 1st August, before jetting off back to the UK 24 hours later.

Tony Pulis` men will then play in successive days back in the UK when they play Torquay on the 6th August and Yeovil on the 7th August before finishing their preparations with another fixture abroad.

The Premier League outfit will travel to Germany to face newly promoted Bundesliga side SpVgg Greuther Furth on the 10th August, eight days before the opening Premier League fixture against newly promoted Reading at the Madjeski Stadium.
