'Crouch on the couch' Striker grabs chat show role

'Crouch on the couch' Striker grabs chat show role

Stoke City`s beanpole striker Peter Crouch has bagged a chat show on Sky one.

The 6ft 7 target man`s show will be called 'On the Couch with Peter Crouch` and will see him interview some of his heroes such as former Oasis frontman and current Beady Eye lead singer Liam Gallagher.

Crouch, 31, is set to begin recording the show and a pilot will be recorded this week, with the whole series being recorded before the start of the season.

A Sun Newspaper source said: "Peter is a smart guy and takes on the role of a chat show host well. He has a long list of people who he considers heroes, in comedy, music, food, you name it.

"The idea is he will go and visit people at their homes or workplaces and chat to them in a quirky way.

"Peter has a good command of the English language and listens well — vital ingredients for this kind of show and not something many footballers have."

The Sky one show is rumoured to be aired later in the year.
