'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Why can't we play like this every week!?

Dear Mr Pulis,

Why can`t we play like that every week?

After reading your defence to persuade a jury to avoid a deserved driving ban, surely you should give the people of Stoke-on-Trent, who only seem to be able to function with your ability to drive an automobile what they want.

Although your comments a couple of weeks ago about how you believe Stoke fans would react to playing attractive football seems to show that you just aren`t on the same wavelength as the Britannia Stadium faithful.

Yes, we wouldn`t like to turn into a West Brom of a few years ago where we would have the majority of the possession, not really do much with it and in the end lose the match, but we wouldn`t mind a bit of this passing malarkey that we have seemed to discover in the last few games. The displays at Anfield and White Hart Lane were at times very aesthetically pleasing on the eye which is not the normality whilst travelling the length and breadth of the country watching the mighty potters.

Okay, in the end you bottled it at Anfield because of your stubbornness of playing a long throw specialist, which everyone has cottoned on to now. It should be removed from our arsenal as soon as possible.

I just don`t get what you say at half time sometimes. The team came out in the second half and reverted back to the kick and rush tactic, even though first half we dominated with a good passing game and had the Liverpool team on the back foot for most of the half in question.

Now we come to the Tottenham game, although I personally couldn`t get the time off work to travel to White Hart Lane, I felt so envious of the 300 or so fans that had the chance to travel down and see you name an adventurous team with a number of players that most supporters have been crying out for. The introduction of Jerome, Pennant and Palacios seemed to give us balance but also more pace and creativity going forward, something any fan loves to see from their team.

My envy soon turned to jealousy as the news of Cameron Jerome`s goal filtered through at work, yes in the end we didn`t manage to hold out for all 3 points, but the effort from the team and the added pace and creativity to the team is a welcome sight for everyone involved with Stoke.

We all just hope that you don`t revert back to the style we were playing before.

Adding Matthew Etherington on to the other wing and maybe resting Walters allowing Jerome to move up front would create what most Stoke would see as the strongest possible team at the moment, both possessing a natural balance and an injection of pace.

Manchester City, yes are title contenders, but they always hate coming to our place, and if we can pressure and bully, along with attacking them with and creativity and pace, I`m sure that we can ruin their title hopes with a devastating victory live on ESPN.

All`s I`m trying to say oh wise Welsh one is that, us Stoke fans would not mind you to play some attractive football, it isn`t like we don`t like it, but we just like to rinse other teams that use it in a manner that just doesn`t work against our high pressure game.

At the end of the day, we Stoke fans love our team being successful and if you can incorporate a good standard of football and continue the success you have bought to this club then we will be very happy indeed.

Yours Sincerely,

Lloyd Reddin
