The Loan Report; Collins saves Hammers

Stoke`s loan stars endured a disappointing weekend as all the players who were involved for their borrowed club`s couldn`t manage to help their teams chalk up a victory.

Danny Collins, who started his first game for West Ham United since his loan move rescued a point for the Hammers with a 90th minute equaliser against Leeds United at Elland Road. The 1-1 draw saw the London outfit drop out of the automatic promotion spots and into 3rd in the Npower Championship after Reading thrashed Barnsley 4-0 at Oakwell. Stoke loanee Michael Tonge was once again left out of Barnsley`s squad.

Youngster Ryan Brunt, who extended his loan move at Tranmere Rovers until the end of the season helped the Wirral outfit grab an impressive point against Npower League One promotion challengers Sheffield United. Brunt, 18, played 66 minutes as Tranmere came away from Bramall Lane with a 1-1 draw.

Elsewhere in League One, Belgian under 19 international Florent Cuvelier played the full 90 minutes for Walsall but couldn`t stop the Saddlers losing 2-1 to Yeovil Town. The defeat leaves Walsall nervously in 20th place, one place and point above the relegation zone.

Diego Arismendi came on to make his debut as a late substitute to help Huddersfield grab an injury time equaliser at the Weston Homes Community Stadium against Colchester United. The draw leaves the Terriers in 4th, five points off the automatic promotion slots.

In the Npower League Two, Andrew Davies Bradford City went down to a solitary goal as they lost 1-0 to Aldershot Town & Matthew Lund was an unused substitute as Bristol Rovers beat A.F.C Wimbledon 1-0 at the Memorial Stadium.

Finally, in the Scottish Premier League, Tom Soares recovered from injury in time to be recalled to Hibernian`s staring line up for the Edinburgh derby against Hearts but couldn`t stop the Maroons winning a third straight derby and heaping more relegation worry on Hibs. Hearts won 2-0 at Tynecastle in which Soares picked up a booking, which leaves Hibs 11th in the SPL, 4 points away from the relegation zone.
