Collins hammers out a loan move

Welsh international Danny Collins has joined Npower Championship high-flyers West Ham United on loan until the end of the season.

The 31-year old will join up with Sam Allardyce`s promotion contenders and hopes his experience will help the Hammers back into the Barclays Premier League.

Collins told West Ham TV: "I've won the Championship twice with Sunderland, so it would be nice to complete a hat-trick. It'll be a battle but with the position West Ham are in, the finishing line is there and hopefully we can achieve promotion over the next 12 matches."

The central defender come left back has already experienced Championship football this season when he was on loan at Paul Jewell`s Ipswich Town where he made 16 appearances, scoring 3 goals in his spell.

Since returning from his spell at Portman Road, Collins found himself being called upon in the F.A. Cup tie at Crawley Town and also the Europa League tie in the Mestalla against Valencia, but Pulis has now allowed Collins move to Upton Park for the opportunity of first team football.

The Chester born player signed in time to be able to make his debut in West Ham`s home fixture against Doncaster Rovers this weekend.
