Cisse on trial...
The 30-year old midfielder links up with the Potters, who are desperately short of numbers in the middle of the park.
Cisse captained Senegal to the Quarter Finals of the 2002 World Cup, and once cost Birmingham £4.5million before moving to Portsmouth.
Tony Pulis and John Rudge are likely to cast their eye over Cisse in tonights reserve game at Sheffield Wednesday.
If the move becomes permanent, the powerful midfielder would be favourite to replace Dave Brammer in the 'holding role.'
City only have Darel Russell, Dave Brammer, an unfit John Eustace and an untried Anthony Pulis vying for a starting place in the middle of the park, and Cisse would be a welcome addition should the trial be deemed succesful.
Meanwhile, Belgian international Carl Hoefkens will start against Kazakhstan in Wednesday nights friendly (kick off 7.45pm).
