Tom 'Soares' off to Hibernian
Stoke outcast Tom Soares has moved to Clydedale Bank Scottish Premier League side Hibernian on loan until the end of the season.
The 25 year old midfielder, who has been frozen out at Stoke, having only played once this season in the 4-1 Europa League victory against F.C. Thun, will move north of the border and will see out his remaining months of his Potters contract in Edinburgh.
Soares last played a league game for Stoke back in December 2008 and has since had loan spells at Charlton Athletic and Sheffield Wednesday.
The former England Under-21 international was purchased on deadline day in Stoke`s first season in the Premiership for £1.25m from Crystal Palace.
The midfielder never really got going at Stoke and only an impressive performance in the 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur comes to mind in his stay at the Britannia Stadium.
Subject to international clearance, Soares could make his debut for Hibs at Ibrox on Saturday against reigning champions Rangers.
This transfer looks to be the first of many out of the club this transfer window as Tony Pulis looks to trim his squad. Individuals such as Michael Tonge are rumoured to be on the verge of moving on to pastures new.
