Potters too good for Grimsby

Potters too good for Grimsby

Darel Russell's superb second half strike was enough to see Stoke end their pre-season schedule with a predictable 1-0 scoreline against Grimsby at Blundell Park.
65 City fans made the trip south, and were rewarded with a good display from the Potters ahead of the big kick off against Southend on Saturday, with Russell's individual goal the icing on the cake.
The game saw a full 90 minutes for Scottish winger Peter Sweeney, who will be hoping to put last seasons injury problems behind him and make the left wing spot his own.

Keep checking back to the site for news updates ahead of the big kick-off next week.

Will City sign Swansea's Andy Robinson?

Will Paul Gallagher rejoin City's threadbare attack?

Will Ade Akinbiyi make a shock move back to the Potters?

And will City secure a deal for an unnamed Championship defender?
