Stoke fancy Rodallega

Stoke fancy Rodallega

Stoke are ready to bid £8 million for Wigan Athletic striker Hugo Rodallega, according to The Daily Express.

The 25-year-old is Wigan's leading Premiership goalscorer of all time and has netted 19 goals in his last two seasons - a feat not gone unnoticed by Stoke.

The Express are reporting Pulis has turned his attentions to Rodallega after the collapsed transfer of Carlton Cole.

The Columbian international scored a terrific header at the Britannia Stadium on the final day of the season to save Wigan from the drop.

So, ANOTHER player is linked, he's the 'type' we should arguably going for, young(for our team), pacey, tricky and he clearly lacks no confidence in scoring goals.

The Potters currently have 26-year-old Kenwyne Jones and signing a player of Rodallega's age and ability to play alongside him would compliment the big man well, meaning we'd have a long term, quality strike-force.

However, I'm not sure if Pulis is 'turning his attentions' to Rodallega because of the faltering Cole deal, they both seem completely different players and there's nothing saying Cole won't join later on in the window.

I'd like to hear Wigan and Stoke fan's thoughts on this one! He does seem settled at the DW Stadium and if he were to move, would Stoke be an option or would he wait for a 'bigger' club? Of course, it's only speculation at this stage but it's a deal which doesn't seem completely improbable.

This move was muted last summer, Hugo is a frustrating player, misses as many as he scores but there is no doubting that he can deliver when the occassion demands, as you found out back in May, with just a year remaining on his contract, if it is true that you have offered £8m then I'd say we'd accept that no problem

Cheers for that Worbo, I didn't know he only had a year left on his contract, interesting that. I know last summer there were rumours going around about Hugo and Maynor Figueroa, I think they're two players Pulis likes but we'll see what happens this one, there will be plenty of clubs after Rodders anyway! Good luck to Wigan next year.
