Stoke set to swoop for Cole

West Ham`s Carlton Cole is set to join Stoke in a potential £6 million deal, according to Evening Standard Journo Tim Nicholls.

Nicholls posted on his Twitter: "Big Sam wants to bring in 8 players at West Ham but Carlton Cole on his way to Stoke.

"Carlton Cole will cost Stoke £4m, but deal could rise to £6m. Good bit of business by Pulis".

The 27 year old striker has scored 31 Premiership goals for the Hammers and notched double figures in consecutive seasons before last year`s five-goal effort which failed to save West Ham from the drop.

The England man certainly fits the Stoke mould, but he isn`t all brawn and brute power and he`s shown himself to be quite a handful on the deck in recent years. He`d be a smart signing for us, OK - so he`s not a world beater but he would be one hell of a signing for that fee and I`m sure the majority of Stoke fans will be delighted with such a coup!

Pulis has long been an admirer of the former Chelsea player and he now looks set to finally land his man.

What do you think about the possible Cole signing?

Perhaps it doesn`t take THAT long for the apples to drop after all!
