As you well know, the 2011/12 fixtures list has been released! It`s almost the same feeling I get when I jump in the taxi at stupid o`clock in the morning to travel to the airport and bugger off on holiday; it all starts HERE!!
Exciting isn`t it? Sad thing is though... we`re not technically allowed to publish it. Thanks to the ignorance of the Premier League and Football Leagues, the English FA and their legal eagles at Dataco, we can`t inform our loyal fans through our own site exactly when and where our favourite teams will play, so you`ll have a slightly more difficult and time consuming method of finding out when you can purchase yours and possibly others` tickets. Have they thought it through? Have they Albert Bullock! They just hate the fans.
Correct, we can`t publish the fixtures - adverts for the games we pay good money to go and see - without paying a fee to some person in a suit, which none of us at VitalFootball can afford to pay, and wouldn`t even if we could on principle.
We look to promote the game in every way we can including letting fans know when to attend games, but apparently this is seen as a chargeable process. It also defies the European Court of Justice about publishing fixture charges but hey, we don`t have the financial backing to challenge that.
Fear not though! What I can tell you is that we have Chelsea on the opening day of the season at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday 13th August, and that we have 37 other Premier League fixtures in which we play the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Norwich City, Queens Park Rangers, Sunderland, Swansea City, Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion, Wigan Athletic and Wolverhampton Wanderers. But you already knew that.
Here`s a link for the fixtures on the official Stoke City FC website for the more important information.
