'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Range Broadens...

It looks like the Geordies could be raided of their youngster Nile Ranger, as Stoke and newly-promoted QPR head the chase for him.

The 20-year-old looks like a prospect for the future and is currently valued at around £1million. Nile featured in 24 games for Newcastle last season; in the league, Carling Cup and FA Cup, however only managed to score once. Manager Alan Pardew has told the England U19 that he can leave the club if he wishes.

Ok so yes, a prospect for the future, but would he be the right move for Stoke? I`m not so sure. In all honesty I think he`ll be better suited for QPR where he`ll be more likely to get the games. It`s important for youth to play as much as possible, and I don`t think at this point in his career, he`ll get in front of Kenwyne Jones or Jon Walters in Pulis` pecking order.

We`ll be better off going for someone who is at the ripe ages of 23-28, who can offer a nice balance of experience and fitness, with still some room for Pulis to mould.

Wouldn't be the brightest idea in all honesty

he might come good spectacularly - but he might not. As you say, QPR might be his best bet as he would have to work very hard to displace Walters or Jones let alone any other strikers we might buy. If we did buy him as one for the future I could only see him going out on loan at best.

Exactly Lakeland-Potter... "out on loan at best" is what I was thinking. We need someone that can come good for us now and give us another option
