Stoke City are said to be absolutely fuming with Karren Brady`s comments about Ryan Shawcross, and are considering making an official complaint to the Premier League.

The respected business(wo)man and vice-chairman at West Ham publicly condemned Shawcross in her national newspaper column.

She accused him of a 'leg-shattering assault' on Aaron Ramsey when leaving the Arsenal midfielder with a badly broken leg 14 months ago.

She also hinted that Ryan had shown no remorse for the incident, which left Ramsey out of the game for more than six months.

Stoke manager Tony Pulis has publicly stood by Shawcross since the Ramsey incident in February of last year along with chairman Peter Coates. Fans yesterday were especially vocal in support of the young skipper who had a decent display at the Brit against Arsenal.

The club believes Brady's comments were ill-timed, ill-informed and potentially libelous by suggesting intent on the part of Shawcross when tackling Ramsey in last year's fixture.

Her attack also ignores the fact that Shawcross not only left the field in tears when red-carded for the tackle, but that he later tried to communicate his best wishes to Ramsey. Typical.

Stoke believe Brady, given her position within the game, should not be commenting so irresponsibly on another club's player.

Want my opinion? She should mind her own business.

Ryan is a top quality player, but because of that inconvenience called 'human nature`; he, along with every single player in football, will make mistakes. The tackle was a clumsy one I`ll give you that but there was no malice what so ever. There has been major debate about whether it actually did do any damage, but whoever or whatever is to blame; it`s how you react and deal with it afterwards that counts.

Ryan was deeply upset by the thought of ruining someone`s career at such an early age, and attempted to make contact with Aaron to apologize and see that he was ok. That doesn`t sound like a thug to me. That sounds like a genuine person who cares.

So Karren Brady; I think you have more important things to worry about i.e. relegation. Where are we? We`re 8th currently in the league and are in the FA Cup Final. Where are you? In last chance saloon drowning your sorrows most probably.

This is Typical of this vile excuse of a woman!!! I honestly do not hate anyone in football more than the fat wench Brady!!! Surely she does this kind of thing to try and take attention away from how badly wet spams season is going!! whatever the reason is, as the article quite rightly suggests, she should just mind her own business and worry about how they are gonna fill a 90,000 seater stadium in the championship!!!! Well done on ur result at the weekend and good luck against city in the final.

She just want,s attention she thrives on it, we know Ryan felt a lot of remorse for Ramsey and broke down when it happened-and but for Wenger dragging every bit of hurt and spite out of the incident i think Ramsey would have accepted Ryan,s apology, so Ms Brady concentrate on your own team ( They really need it ) and leave our team and old wounds to lie set your satnav for Coventry we have ours set for Wembley.

Spurs fan here - great article mate. The only thing I disagree with is the word "respected" in the 2nd paragraph. I think you should have put "unprofessional" :-) What she said about Shawcross was nothing compared to Sidwell. Not sure how an executive at a football club can be in the board room negotiating players transfer during the week and write about the detail in The Sun at the weekend. I'm sure Steve Sidwell had a word with his lawyers back in January. Saying that, Sidwell will be in the Prem next year so he probably had the last laugh. Just like the Birmingham fans who won a cup after the circus left town.

Brady thinks she's the 'big I am', sitting on her high horse (that isn’t Sullivan or Gold), thinking she can pass judgment on Ryan without even getting her facts straight. It’s just plain stupid and insulting. I’d certainly complain, even if it’s just to make the Premier League more aware of the matter. The comments were uncalled for and what’s more, it has absolutely nothing to do with her. I agree with the writer Ryan Kalisz; MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!!
