Potters miss out on Livermore

Stoke City have yet again missed out on another capture to boost their ranks following David Livermore's decision to join Leeds ahead of The Potters from Millwall.
The news will come as a blow to City boss Tony Pulis, who last week missed out on the signature of Damien Francis who joined Watford. A deal for popular former loan striker Paul Gallagher is also now unlikely.
Pulis told The Sentinel: 'We had inquired about him (Livermore) a few weeks ago and were waiting for developments. I don't know what Leeds were offering money-wise, but he's decided he'd rather go there. Of course it's a disappointment, but we do have other things bubbling along and so it isn't the end of the world.'
Time is running out for Pulis to bolster his squad ahead of the big kick off against Southend United on August 5th.
Pulis is also considering sending John Eustace out on loan to regain match fitness.
Stoke are in action against Turkish Premier League side Manisaspor tonight (Tuesday) which will conclude their Austria visit.

Thank goodness for that. Milwall fans can't believe Leeds have paid good money for him apparently. Hope he's not indicative of other "targets"!

Come on guys keep up - we've "missed out" on Zola too now! (Apols but i'm disgusted.) Factor in no return for Gallagher & we're looking very, very thin on quality i'd say.
